Linda, Thanks for your question. if you are looking for a Barter Exchange in your area look in the Yellow Pages or Google Barter Exchange and your city and state. See what you find. If more than one, call and compare. Show them what you have to barter. Ask to see a list of their members or goods and services that may be available. Ask if they have a showroom and if they will purchase any of your work or display it and have their trade brokers let members know, particularly if you are willing to work on commission, do portraits, murals. Ask if any of their members are Interior Designers, Decorators or Architects who may want custom work or would like to see samples. Tell them the sort of goods or services you may want.
As suggested in the article, when you are dealing with service providers from accountants to doctors face to face, just ask if they are willing to barter for what you want.
If you become a member of an exchange, NEVER approach another member to undercut your exchange.
Good luck. Let me know what you find. Please look at my website and subscribe. No cost, just good information.

I would just bet you have one in your area, too. Plus, there is one that is New England area….too big for me normally, but now that I think of it, I have never thought to barter art there. I have put it out there as a listing, but never a strict barter. What a good idea!
